El Dorado 12 Years Special Reserve is a blend of rums aged for a minimum of 12 years and produced in wood and metal stills.
Since 1670 in Guyana, El Dorado has been produced strictly from molasses from local sugar factories.
In El Dorado they have three stills, one wooden Coffey still with 250 years of continuous use and unique in the world, a second wooden still (and copper lid) and finally a Savalle still, which is a style of continuous distillation still. . Aged in ex-bourbon barrels.
