Very high layer, intense cherry red with violet edges.
Aromas of stewed red fruits, blackberries, with touches of coffee, toffee, violets and mineral nuances, all well integrated thanks to the prolonged passage through French oak wood.
Its density, fleshy body, power and persistence stand out, accompanied by balance.
La Milla de Miros 2018, from Bodegas Peñafiel (DO Ribera del Duero), is a signature wine that reflects the purest essence of the terroir. It is made exclusively with Tempranillo (Tinta Fina) grapes from century-old vines trained in the traditional bush vine system. The grapes are carefully selected berry by berry and harvested late in 12 kg crates. After harvesting, the grapes spend 48 hours in a cold chamber at less than 7°C to preserve their freshness and fruity aromas. The winemaking process includes a 52-hour cold pre-maceration in an inert atmosphere, alcoholic fermentation for 20 days in new 500L French oak barrels, and malolactic fermentation in new 225L barrels with gentle bâtonnage twice a week for approximately 45 days. Finally, the wine ages for 48 months in new, very fine-grained French oak barrels, resulting in a limited-edition wine with a highly concentrated expression.
