Description
Lallier Réflexion R.021 is the most contemporary expression of the Maison Champagne Lallier, founded in 1906 in Aÿ by René Lallier and now owned by the Italian Campari group. A house that produces champagne from the prestigious Grand Cru vineyards of the Champagne region, with the commitment to capture the unique identity of the terroir each year. The Réflexion collection is the heart of the Lallier style: the perfect balance between purity, freshness, intensity, and depth.
The R.021 is made predominantly with the 2021 vintage (70% of the blend), complemented with reserve wines exclusively from the 2020 vintage (30%), patiently aged on its fine lees. The blend is dominated by Pinot Noir (49%) from several crus of the Montagne de Reims, Aÿ, and Côte des Bar, along with Chardonnay (44%) from the Côte des Blancs, Montgueux, and Côtes de Sézanne, and Meunier (7%) from the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley.
The aging lasts for a minimum of 36 months on the lees in the Maison's cellars, with disgorgement carried out at least 3 months before shipping, which guarantees its maximum freshness. The dosage is only 7 g/L — practically an Extra-Brut — to reveal with total transparency the purity of the wine.
Of fresh color with soft yellow reflections and a golden touch. On the nose, very clear aromas dominated by citrus: lime and mandarin, completed by elegant floral notes. More mature notes of brioche and fresh hazelnut round out the bouquet, coming from the 2020 reserve wines. On the palate, the attack offers great purity and freshness with a delicate saline sensation. The power of the Pinot Noir and the softness of the Meunier dominate the palate. The finish is long and deep, with a beautiful aromatic maturity.
Serve between 10-12°C in a medium glass between a flute and a wine glass. Ideal for aperitifs, vegetarian canapés, citrus fish ceviches, lobster, smoked carabinero shrimp, or seasonal vegetable tart.
