Aguardiente Antioqueño Tapa Roja is the traditional and best-selling version from the Fábrica de Licores de Antioquia: the "guaro" of all time, the one served at any Colombian celebration.
It is made with extra-neutral spirits derived from sugarcane, natural anise essences, refined sugar, and water filtered through activated carbon. At 29º, it is a smooth and easy-to-drink anise-flavored spirit, with a touch of sweetness that makes it rounder than the sugar-free versions.
It is traditionally drunk in shots and ice-cold, accompanied by water or a slice of orange or lemon, although it also works in cocktails and mixed drinks.
