The Chocolate Block 2023 , created by Boekenhoutskloof in Franschhoek, is one of South Africa's most iconic and sought-after wines. This vintage remains true to its unmistakable style: a blend dominated by Syrah , accompanied by Grenache , Cinsault , Cabernet Sauvignon , and Viognier , which contribute complexity and harmony.
Fermented in concrete tanks and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (some new), this wine displays intense aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, cocoa, sweet spices, and a subtle floral note. On the palate, it is juicy, balanced, and has soft tannins, making it versatile and easy to enjoy young, though it also has aging potential.
