Tasting notes

Appearance

Pale golden color.

Nose

Exceptional balance and depth. Its aroma is a perfect mix of toffee and the sweetness of chocolate, among notes of cinnamon and medicinal phenols. The fresh citrus fruits and floral notes of the white wine are very evident: melon, pear... The phenolic notes of the sea, iodine and smoked fish are also strongly appreciated. Later, when the more volatile notes fade, chicory and coffee emerge, among the smoke of the wood and the sweetness of vanilla.

Palate

A moderate and clear initial sweetness is followed by flavors of pipe tobacco and espresso that give way to notes of licorice. Its passage is at first very spicy, later succulent that makes us salivate and prepares us for a dry, long and smoky finish of sweetly malted cereals.

Description

Ardbeg 10 Years is the emblem of the Ardbeg distillery. Produced in the Islay region, it was named World Whiskey of the Year in 2008. Its complexity and smoky character give it a differential place among whiskeys from the same region. It is a single malt, it retains the sweet character of the malt but without being cold filtered, the peat is present quickly. In the glass it appears pale gold, its aroma and taste dares to show citrus touches along with peat and toasted vanilla. To make these tastes and aromas explode, add a few drops of water to the glass with whiskey.
